This should ease the slippage but the only way to fix it is to repair the clutch pack which is around $800 to $1200 or hope to find a good 2nd hand gearbox. I went through the same thing lastweek with my 2007 Honda Fit Vtec CVT, took it to the agents and they said they cannot help me even though i explained to them there was a Tsb on this, they test drove my car and said its in perfect running order, which it is but now its on 151000km and I googled how to change the oil and what oil to use because it was due for a service but instead I found all what you mentioned about the tsb etc.īasically the problem is the Start clutch pack in the gearbox, when it wears off it causes the judder which is actually slippage of the clutch, depending how bad it is, by changing the cvt oil it sort of fixes the judder temporary but you need to do a double flush, drain the cvt oil, fill in the new oil, run the car up to operating temp for awhile and then drain it again, after that put in another lot of new oil. I am considering the Better Business Bureau or a Civil lawsuit but in the mean time, I need to get to work. Less than 1 year ago however, Markham Honda serviced my car and gave me a sheet of paper indicating all fluids in my car were in good condition, including the transmission fluid. I should mention that Markham Honda is the most recent dealership I went to, I moved a lot and have taken it to several for service. Can anyone offer advice for how to deal with Honda Canada, Honda dealerships or advice on repairing my car? The car is getting worse and I need it to get to work everyday. The cost of a new transmission will be $3000+, I cannot afford this as I went back to school and am starting over in my career again at this time. Separate businesses? So Honda Canada is saying they are not accountable whatsoever for the service at their own dealerships? They know this is a fault in the transmission and they refuse to even consider helping me. They said if I have an issue with the service at a dealership I would have to take it up with them as they are separate businesses. I also called Honda Canada several times and they have told me I am on my own because I didn't take car of my car. I expect Honda mechanics to know my car and to properly maintain it when I take it to them for service. They also said Honda doesn't pay for repairs when people don't maintain their cars. They also quickly told me there was no way the extended warranty would be honoured because the transmission fluid had never been changed. I took it to Markham Honda where they test drove it and confirmed it was the CVT Judder mentioned in the TSB. I thought I was Ok because it is a 2005 with 142 000km on it and I had taken it to Honda for service. They also indicated in the TSB that Honda would extend teh warranty to 160000km and 7 years old if a car came in with this issue. I did some research and found out this was a fairly common problem called a CVT transmission "Judder." Honda Canada sent out a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) in 2008 to their dealers so they would know how to deal with the problem. ![]() At that shop they told me it was a transmission code, they also told me the transmission fluid had never been changed. ![]() ![]() When this happened I took it to a private mechanic near to where I was at the time as I was afriad to drive it and damage it further. I took my car to Honda more than once a year for service and did some oil changes at home with my Dad. I knew I would pay a premium price but I wanted to make sure I took good care of my $15500 investment. Because I am not a mechanic and know very little about cars I decided to take my car to Honda dealers for service. I bought my 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid in 2007 with 68 000 km from a private dealer in Toronto (not Honda). I am looking for advice anyone might be able to offer me regarding my situation with Honda. One hole for a siphon drain (which to me is a throw back to the herbie drain), one for a durso, and one for an open emergency drain should the main drains become clogged. This is requiring tanks to be drilled in the upper back wall with bulkheads in the holes to allow water to pass from a strainer box located inside the tank, through the back wall of the tank, and into the actual overflow box which is in turn drilled with three holes in the bottom of the box. So that leads me to my first question, would you agree this setup is now the preferred or "gold standard" for plumbing and over flow? From what I have been able to glean so far, it looks like the actual overflow box is now located outside of the tank instead of inside the tank. One source I found was even calling it the "gold standard" for an overflow setup. ![]() However, from some of the reading I have done already, it looks like the Bean Animal setup for overflow/drain is very popular now. ![]() This is what I used in my last tank with a durso for the drain to quiet it down, and a standard plumbed return terminating in loc line. It looks like the tried and true, corner or back wall overflows are still being produced, sold, and used with what I would call the traditional two hole design, one for the drain and one for the return. I'm looking at the tank while also planning my plumbing and overflow layout. It was a great tank, extremely heavy to move, but built like a tank and it lasted until I tore it down and got out of the hobby. My last tank was a 180 gallon tank from Glass Cages here in Tennessee. So, my first area of planning and questions is the tank itself. So, as I get back into reading and doing me research, I'm setting this thread up to document my planning and then my build. Quite a few things have changed since my last major reef tank (that was my 180 gallon sps reef that I set up in 2006). The wife and I will be moving into our new home, hopefully sometime in the next 3-4 months, so I'm starting my planning early. I've been out of the hobby for several years now and got back in about 6 months ago with a 20 gallon nano I setup with parts I kept from my last tank. This conscious awareness of ANTs can also help you replace and reframe ANTs with positive thoughts. Practices like mindful meditation can help you “deal with” automatic negative thoughts. How to Stop Automatic Negative ThoughtsĪ Reddit user asked this question on the AskReddit thread. Fortunately, there are ways to reframe ANTs and replace them with more positive thoughts. There is no magic pill that will make them go away. You may make bad choices, but you can learn and grow from them. It’s quicker to write yourself off as a bad person, rather than accept that you, like the people around you, are imperfect. It may be easier to “tell the future” than to wait patiently for the future to arrive. Our minds also want a quick solution or answer. It might be “easier” to hold the weight of guilt rather than try to put it on another person or a larger history that may have contributed to misfortunes. Sometimes, it’s easiest to “get an answer” by blaming ourselves. We try to search for answers and make decisions quickly. Like the thoughts themselves, the answer may vary. So why do they keep popping up in your brain? (If you believe you might be suffering from depression, take an assessment and reach out to a professional.) These thoughts, often set in the future, reference events that haven’t happened yet. Examples of ANTs and AnxietyĪn anxious person may have ANTs concerning the future. The acronym ANTs is really appropriate, because automatic negative thoughts are invasive, unwanted, and can ruin your picnic. These thoughts may sound different for each person. People experiencing anxiety and depression are more likely to experience automatic negative thoughts. They are negative thoughts that seem to pop into your mind without conscious effort. What Are Automatic Negative Thoughts?Īutomatic negative thoughts are pretty self-explanatory. The longer you let automatic negative thoughts control your thought process, the harder it will be to take back control and start living with a positive outlook. But every day, people let these automatic negative thoughts dictate their decisions, moods, and life. You probably wouldn’t listen to someone who popped up behind you and said these things. “I should have been more productive this week.” You’re minding your own business, and all of a sudden, you think, “I’m a failure.” You know, the ones that seem to come from nowhere. How many automatic negative thoughts popped into your head today? |
